Crooked Teeth Theatre is a company of talented, passionate emerging artists and theatre revolutionaries. We began at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009. Now based in Vancouver, Canada.
Currently producing pop-up theatre, primarily at Vancouver Fringe Festival, Crooked Teeth Theatre has plans to grow into a full repertory training theatre company where theatre artists will learn all aspects of theatre craft and work with media artists, musicians and authors to create thought provoking and relevant works. In the future we plan to also offer a youth summer theatre camp as well as workshops for team building and presentation skills for non-performers.

Artistic Director Danielle Benzon is (among many other things) a director, writer, actress, voice and acting coach.
Note from Danielle:
I have been on a stage, around a stage, back-stage for almost 30 years now. Prior to achieving my MA in Acting at East 15 (a conservatory acting school in London, UK), I was involved in local productions in Vancouver, Canada and Durban, South Africa where I was part of a Youth Theatre Company at the Performing Arts Centre of Education. I am certified to teach the Meisner Approach through Larry Silverberg's Meisner Certificate Training Program at the True Acting Institute which I would recommend to ANYONE interested in acting, Larry is the most specific, gentle and masterful teacher I have ever encountered. I have had the absolute pleasure of participating in the National Voice Intensive at UBC in Vancouver, Canada, now held in various locations across Canada, another training I could not recommend highly enough. I am also a proud graduate of the Vancouver Performers Mastery, too many years ago now to be comfortable to mention. Although my work is most certainly an amalgamation of all the little bits and pieces I've picked up over the years, my main focus is on the Meisner Approach and the work of Kristin Linklater (Freeing the Natural Voice). |
